SF STATION

". . . it (weird fish) is everything one would want in one's own neighborhood -- an affordable restaurant with high-quality, sustainable food; efficient and friendly service; and a stylish atmosphere."

"Vegetarian friends are already touting the Weird Fish brunch (available daily) as a total godsend."

— Michelle Chan-Fishel

TABLEHOPPER

"As they promised me before opening, they were gonna make the best damned fish and chips in town. They worked like hell on getting the recipe right, and I have to say the beer batter adheres perfectly to the nice juicy chunks of tilapia like a dream. Not greasy, not soggy, not too battery, just crispy enough. Piping hot. Salted just right. Hmmmm, by Jove, I think they did it."

— Marcia Gagliardi

COOKING WITH AMY

Some other favorite dishes of mine are the Edamame Noodle Salad ($4), and the decidedly weird, but strangely addictive fried dill pickles called yoyo's. I think they used to be slices but are now long juicy and crisp, crunchy spears.

—Amy Sherman

AOL CITYGUIDE

"The Mission is better known for carne asada than seafood, but that doesn't stop this small, modern, eco-friendly restaurant from serving up some of the best fish-and-chips in the city."
